So if you didn't know, Nvidia announces its new products at CES every year. CES is basically a business convention where big tech companies showcase their latest products and innovations. This year Nvidia bombarded fans and enthusiasts with some of the craziest news and announced the RTX 50 series GPU, for which we have all been waiting for a long time.
Other than the RTX 50 Nvidia announced its new projects with Agentic AI. Although they all seem very interesting, we will not discuss them in this article, so that the article stays comprehensive and concise.
Geforce RTX 50 series
The RTX 50 series includes 4 starting models:
Nvidia did not disclose any information about the 5050 and the 5060 and we do not even know if they will make it or not.
This new series is much more powerful than the last generation 4000 series graphics card with an all-new architecture, more Vram, and lots of new features. Let us discuss them in the following sections.

Key Features:
- Improved number of Teraflops.
- Enhanced number of CUDA Cores.
- Improved DLSS.
- New Architecture.
- Faster GDDR7 Memory.
- PCIe gen 5 and DisplayPort 2.1b support.
Performance Highlights:
- Blackwell Architecture: Nvidia developed and introduced its new architecture at CES 2025 for the RTX 50 series GPU. It is more efficient and faster than the previous generation Ada Lovelace architecture.
- DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation: With the previous generation DLLS 3 Frame Generation, it could only generate one additional frame with the help of AI for each rendered frame but with the new DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, 3 additional frames can be generated for each rendered frame; which can improve performance by a huge margin.
- The new generation of GPUs will have a better Price-to-Performance ratio than the last gen 4000 series.
RTX 5070
The RTX 5070 is the first or lowest-performing model of the 50 series and is the biggest highlight of the whole event. 'Lowest-performing might be an overstatement because Nvidia CEO and event host Jensen Huang claimed that the RTX 5070 will perform as well as a 4090which if you did not know, a 4090 is a $2000 graphic card versus a $549 card. So, it is unfortunate for the people who paid way more than $2000 to just get a new 4090 during the festive season sales.
There is a catch that no one is talking about. The 5070 can only give that kind of beastly performance with DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation turned on. In my opinion, that is a fair trade-off for the performance it gives at that price point, and it doesn't even cause heat issues or deteriorate the visual quality of the game.
RTX 5070 Ti & 5080
Apart from the increase in the VRAM and other parameters, there is nothing else phenomenal about these cards. I am not implying that you shouldn't buy these cards or that they are bad; they obviously can perform very well for what they are priced at and outperform the 5070, but just knowing that you can get 4090 performance at $549, it just makes the 5070 Ti and 5080 seem bland (just my opinion). However, you should still buy it if you are considering it. Do not change your opinion just because I or anybody else said it on the internet; there are no downsides to these graphic cards.
RTX 5090
Ahh yes, the 5090, the most powerful commercially available GPU, the big daddy of all the GPUs, the one that costs as much as a 4090 while performing two times better. Yes, that is right, Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang also claimed at CES that the RTX 5090 will perform two times faster and better than the last gen 4090 while costing the same or even cheaper. This is a big deal in the graphics card industry, gaming industry, and PC-building industry as it can give performance like never before with a price that people agree to. The 5090 has also increased the standards for powerful GPUs and may force AMD to make a GPU equivalent to the 5090.
Blackwell Architecture
Nvidia introduced its new Blackwell architecture with its RTX 50 series which obviously is an upgrade from the generation-long Ada Lovelace architecture. It is more power efficient and better at AI acceleration and tasks like image generation and upscaling, etc. Faster at processing and rendering which improves performance in-game and in productive functions like graphics and 3D rendering. Nvidia has also introduced better machine learning which could revolutionise self-driving car technologies.
Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang himself said that the self-driving technology that we have today is just the tip of the iceberg and the Blackwell architecture with the industrial grade GPUs like the RTX A6000 (just an example of industrial GPUs, it does not have Blackwell) that are yet to be released can exponentially change AI and self-driving cars.
Release Dates
Conclusion
In summary, the GeForce RTX 50 consists of very powerful and promising GPUs with performance incomparable to anything seen before, which could change the industry for good. Nvidia's advancements in AI are also accelerating quickly, and it is developing innovative ways to use AI in GPUs.
